I was pleased to read of Cheshire East Council’s success last week, in securing a High Court Order against a significant incursion onto agricultural land in the Green Belt at Mobberley.
Residents are being urged to stick to the pandemic lockdown rules after another surge in the number fines being issued.
Officers have now dished out 685 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) since early January – including 126 in the Crewe and Nantwich divisional area.
Nantwich officers have warned parents of teenagers to keep them at home in lockdown after Cheshire Police issued more than 300 fines in January.
They say parents of children caught breaking lockdown rules could be fined, after complaints in the Stapeley area of groups of youths hanging around, some involved in anti-social behaviour.
Nantwich residents have been warned to stay at home unless essential after Cheshire Police issued 58 fines over the weekend.
Police chiefs say since the new restrictions came into force last week, most have been sticking to the rules to help protect the NHS and save lives.
Police have investigated 617 reports of lockdown “breaches” across Crewe and Nantwich, it emerged today.
And Chief Insp Simon Newell, head of the Crewe LPU which covers Nantwich, revealed 33 fixed penalty fines had been issued in that time.
A Willaston councillor has been fined £45,000 after admitting fire safety breaches at a property he rented out. Cllr Brian Silvester, who represents Willaston and Rope at Cheshire East, was fined at Chester Crown Court.
