Nantwich Police have drafted in extra officers to cope with thousands of New Year’s Eve revellers heading in to town. And officers are also warning residents out celebrating to guard against leaving properties open to burglars.
Nantwich residents are being warned to secure property after three burglaries in surrounding villages on the same day. Police believe the incidents, in Wrenbury, Tarporley and Brereton, could be linked.
A one-man crimewave who terrorised elderly and vulnerable people in South Cheshire was been jailed for six years. Oliver Boswell (pictured), 34, from Northwich and Middlewich, was charged with eight burglaries and two attempt thefts with violence.
