A lorry loaded with cheese got into a pickle when it crashed into a hedge on a busy Nantwich road. Police say the 44-tonne wagon swerved to avoid another vehicle before crashing on Main Road, in Worleston, Nantwich.
A cheese detective and dairy experts at Reaseheath College joined forces to give Italian visitors a taste of the region’s artisan cheeses. Peter Papprill, of Pendrill Foods in Chester, was at the Nantwich college to show students what the north west has to offer.
Nantwich MP Edward Timpson has called on Parliament to promote local produce by championing the cause of Cheshire cheese. Mr Timpson called on Leader of the House of Commons, the Rt Hon Sir George Young MP, to hold a debate on produce.
