Three new beaver kits have been born at Hatchmere Nature Reserve near Delamere Forest, says Cheshire Wildlife Trust.
Original beaver pairing Rowan and Willow have successfully bred for a second time, increasing their family by another three.
Cheshire animal lovers have been voting to pick names for the county’s newest beavers living at Hatchmere.
And with votes counted, the names have been revealed as… Aspen and Bramble!
A new young beaver has been spotted at Hatchmere Nature Reserve in Delamere – the first time beavers have bred in Cheshire in more than 400 years.
This young beaver – known as a kit – is the offspring of a pair of Eurasian beavers named Rowan and Willow.
Cheshire Wildlife Trust has raised £30,000 needed to build beaver-proof fencing as part of a project to reintroduce the animal in the county. Beavers are native to Cheshire but they became extinct in England in the 16th century.
