A Cheshire travel boss has revealed there’s a massive demand for sunshine holidays with bookings up by 25% on pre-Covid levels.
According to Hays Travel North West managing director Don Bircham, January is the peak period for the industry with families desperate to escape the cold, wet and gloomy weather.
An independent travel firm with a base in Nantwich has defied Brexit fears by selling a record £1 million worth of holidays in one day.
The boss of Hays Travel North West, which has an outlet on Swine Market in Nantwich, said “Brexit scaremongering” was doing nothing to put off British public from booking holidays in the sun.
Police are hunting an attacker who assaulted a 20-year-old reveller in Nantwich town centre and left him with serious facial injuries.
The victim was walking along Swine Market between Hays Travel and Harrisons bar when he was approached by three men.
