HS2 Ltd to stage community information events in South Cheshire

Teams from HS2 Ltd will be staging community information events for residents keen to find out more about the high speed rail project and its impact on South Cheshire.

Three events will be held in the region during June and July 2018 as part of a wider engagement programme along the planned route between the West Midlands and Leeds, and Crewe and Manchester.

Council leaders welcome Crewe HS2 hub station public consultation

Cheshire East Council leaders have welcomed a Government announcement for a public consultation on plans to build a HS2 Hub station in South Cheshire.

The consultation was unveiled today (July 17) by Transport Secretary Chris Grayling who confirmed Britain’s high speed rail lines to the North West, East Midlands and Yorkshire.

Leading Crewe and Nantwich politicians have welcomed a plan to extend the HS2 line to South Cheshire earlier than first thought. David Higgins, Chairman of HS2 Ltd, has announced that Phase Two of the £50 billion high speed rail link should be “accelerated”.
