Council tax payers in Cheshire East look set for a 2.99% hike from April adding £47.21 a year to a bill for a Band D property.
Members of the corporate policy committee agreed to recommend that full council approves the increase as part of its budget for 2022/3.
Families across Nantwich and Crewe are facing a 4.99% hike in Cheshire East Council Tax bills, it has emerged.
The whopping rise comes as the authority revealed it has to find £100 million of savings by 2020.
