Golfers helped to raise more than £13,000 for children’s hospices at a fundraising event at the Portal Hotel & Spa golf Championship course in Tarporley.

The Hope House Tŷ Gobaith Cheshire golf day, sponsored by Recycling UK, was classed as a major success and raised a brilliant £13,250.

Cheshire High Sheriff Susan Sellers is in top gear as she plans a major celebration of art and craft in aid of local hospices.

Mrs Sellers, from Tarporley, near Nantwich, hopes to welcome huge crowds to Oulton Park race circuit where professional artwork will be showcased and sold to boost funds for hospices.
