Cheshire East Council’s leader and deputy have remained in post after surviving a vote of no-confidence.
The vote was sparked by the controversy surrounding the possible development of a new town at Adlington.

A vote of no confidence in the Mayor of Cheshire East could be held next week, after appearing in the viral Handforth Parish Council video clip.
Mayor Cllr Barry Burkhill, who represents Handforth as an Independent, also sits on the parish council and can be seen in the longer version of the video, asking “‘where the chairman [Cllr Brian Tolver] has gone” after being placed in the Zoom’s waiting room by Jackie Weaver.
