B&M store change of use bid for 20 apartments refused by council

Council officers have refused a change of use application by developers to turn part of the former B&M supermarket in Nantwich into 20 apartments.

Suraj Gangani and Anshul Raja, of Apavi Group Holdings, bought the building on Swine Market in May and want to convert most of the building into apartments.

Jubilant Bunbury residents clapped and cheered as Cheshire East Council refused plans to “cram” up to 25 entry-level homes onto a field in the village.

Nearly 50 villagers packed into the council chamber at Crewe for southern planning meeting to oppose plans by Roger Ryder to demolish a house on Bunbury Lane and build affordable homes on the site.

Ministers have refused a controversial appeal by Muller Property Group to build the first phase of a 1,100-home “Nantwich South” development in Stapeley.

The developer had applied to build 189 homes and an access road off Peter de Stapleigh Way.
