A new digital directory of services has been launched to help survivors of sexual violence in Cheshire find support.
It features a postcode search function which allows users to find local support services.
Cheshire sexual violence services say they are ready to support victims whose memories are triggered by a BBC three-part series “Football’s Darkest Secret”.
The series is based on abuse suffered by young footballers which came to light when former Crewe Alexandra player Andy Woodward spoke out in 2016 about being abused by Barry Bennell while at the South Cheshire club.
Police officers across Cheshire are to be specially trained on how to support victims of sexual violence.
Every frontline officer will soon receive training amid complaints from some victims of “inappropriate” and “insensitive” responses.
