Money raised in memory of Seahorse Swimming Club founder

The family of Barbara Warrington, one of Seahorse Swimming Club’s founder members, visited Crewe Lifestyle Centre to present a cheque to the club in her memory.

Barbara, who died in August, volunteered at Seahorse from 1956 until 2001, where she spent most of her time in the role of chief instructor.

Plans to expand a special school in South Cheshire to accommodate an extra 60 pupils have been recommended for approval, despite some objections.

Springfield School in Crewe caters for 200 children and young people, between the ages of four and 19, who have severe learning difficulties and complex needs.

South Cheshire special school gets go ahead for 80 extra places

A special school in South Cheshire has been given the go-ahead to provide an extra 80 places for children with severe learning difficulties – subject to securing planning permission.

Springfield School in Crewe, which has been rated “outstanding” in its last four Ofsted inspections, is set to increase its pupil numbers from 170 to 250 in September of next year.
