Nantwich businesses are pitching in to help people celebrate VE Day from their own homes!
Residents are being encouraged to host “Stay at Home” street parties and decorate houses to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day this Friday (May 8).
A packed Nantwich Civic Hall welcomed in the new Mayor of Nantwich, Cllr Christine Farrall. The former headteacher was sworn in as the town council’s new chair, taking over from outgoing mayor Cllr John Lewis.
More than £5,000 has been raised for the Nantwich Town Mayor’s Charity, SSAFA. Money was raised at a number of events throughout the year, culminating in the Mayor’s charity dance at Nantwich Civic Hall, which collected more than £600.
