A senior councillor has moved to reassure Cheshire East Council’s opposition leader that a costly workplace culture scheme is tackling bullying at the local authority.
Cheshire East Council paid consultancy firm Sticky Change £152,460 to help it work on a ‘brighter future together’ programme during 2018-19 – a scheme designed to improve the local authority’s workplace culture.

More than 1,000 people have taken part in a programme to change the workplace culture of Cheshire East Council.
The local authority revealed in March that it had hired consultancy firm Sticky Change on a 12-month contract worth £152,460 to help it work on a ‘brighter future together’ scheme.

More than £150,000 being spent on consultants brought to rid Cheshire East Council of bullying will not solve the problem, the Labour group leader insists.
A report from the Local Government Association (LGA), commissioned by Cheshire East, found that almost a quarter of council staff were aware of workplace bullying in the second half of 2017.
