Council plans to enhance the leisure, training, and spectator facilities at South Cheshire’s athletics venue Cumberland Arena have been approved.
The Everybody Health and Leisure scheme will extend and adapt the venue on Thomas Street in Crewe.
Business cases for two major projects in Crewe have been approved by government.
Project leaders say the approval marks a milestone as Crewe Town Board believes it “shows confidence in our vision for Crewe”.

Crewe residents have been given the chance to see how £22.9m of government funding will be spent on a package of projects to revitalise the town.
Ten schemes have been earmarked for funding through the Towns Fund – a national scheme designed to drive regeneration and economic growth.
