Fire-hit Peckforton Castle near Nantwich has landed the prestigious Conference Venue of the Year at the national HBAA Awards.

Now in their fourth year, the HBAA Awards are regarded as a benchmark of best practice, whose buying power in meetings, events and accommodation tops £2.3bn.

The coveted awards were presented by the association’s Chair Juliet Price at a dinner attended by over 300 booking agents, hotels and venues and ancillary suppliers.

Juliet said: “Congratulations to all of those shortlisted and in particular to the winners.

“These awards really do recognise the dedication and vigour we have in raising levels of professionalism in the association and wider sector.”

Peckforton Castle scooped the award despite a suspected arson attack on the venue in June. The castle’s owners and staff believe this win will help contribute to the rebuilding of business.

Chris Naylor, the castle’s managing director, said: “The support received from our clients and visitors has been nothing short of overwhelming I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them all for voting and helping us spread the word about what a magnificent venue we truly are.”
