A residential care complex in Nantwich has reached the finals of the Great North West Care Awards 2011.

Richmond Village, off London Road, has been shortlisted in three separate categories in the awards.

The village, winners of the 2010 North West Care Employer of the Year and runner up in the national finals, has been nominated as Care Employer of the Year 2011.

Hospitality manager Debbie Mercandelli and her team are finalists in the Nutrition and Hydration Award, while driver Bryan Burchell, is in the Ancillary Worker of the Year category.

The Great British Care Awards pay tribute to groups and individuals who demonstrate excellence in their field.

Regional category winners go to the national finals in June at London’s Royal Courts of Justice.

Village Manager Lynne Griffin said: “This is a tremendous achievement and reflects the hard work and dedication all our staff show each and every day.

“Debbie and her team work tirelessly to ensure residents have healthy nutritious food… I am also delighted Bryan’s commitment to offering the very best service has been acknowledged in this way.”

Judging takes place today (September 15) but results will not be announced until a gala ceremoney in Blackpool on October 8.
