The wife of missing Wistaston man Peter Dykes is to fly out to Spain to be reunited with her husband.

Teresa said she has finally managed to track Peter down to a hotel in Madrid and has spoken to him, but revealed he is “very poorly”.

The 43-year-old disappeared last Saturday when he should have been returning home, sparking a joint Spanish and Cheshire Police hunt.

Police found him after tracing bank transactions and mobile phone signals, but declined to tell Teresa which hotel he was traced to.

There were fears for Peter’s mental wellbeing as Teresa thought he may have gone out without medication.

Teresa said: “Peter has been found. I have spoken to him, but he is very poorly.

“I am going out there. Thank you everyone for all the suppotr and help.”

Peter, father to 12-year-old Harry, had flown out with brother Chris last week before Stoke City’s Europa League match at Valencia on Thursday February 23.

He should have boarded a flight from Madrid to Heathrow and then Heathrow to Manchester.

The story hit the headlines earlier this week, with thousands of people posting messages of support on social networks.

Teresa is due to fly out to Madrid today (Saturday March 3).
