Nantwich Big Cheese Film Club is to relaunch with a new series of screenings at a new venue, Nantwich Civic Hall.

The season starts on July 9, and there will six award-winning films on show.

“We wanted to stay in the town centre because so many of our regulars told us they walk to the venue,” said club chairman Dave Reiser.

“And what better place is there than Nantwich Civic Hall?

“The Civic Hall team has been really enthusiastic about making Big Screen films a regular feature each month and Nantwich Town Council has been incredibly supportive.”

The club have bought new equipment with grants from the town council and Cheshire East Council.

Together with the Civic Hall’s cinema-screen and audio system, organisers believe the quality of the Big Screen experience will be better than ever.

The season starts on July 9 with “Jane Eyre” – Cary Fukunaga’s award-winning 2011 adaptation starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender.

The full season of films is:

July 9 – Jane Eyre
August 13 – Midnight in Paris
September 10 – The Lives of Others
October 8 – The Last Picture Show
November 19 – Submarine
December 10 – Seasonal Selection

All films begin at 7.45pm.

The Civic Hall bar opens from 7pm and will also open after the film for refreshments.

The club is looking for film and event suggestions and for film sponsorship.
