potholes plague Marsh Lane in Nantwich

Highways chiefs have promised to fix the pot-hole problems plaguing residents and motorists on Marsh Lane in Nantwich.

Cheshire East Council says it has sent a team to assess the road which has sparked complaints from residents, teachers and town councillors.

They vowed to fix one particularly bad pot-hole today (Wednesday January 9).

It comes as dozens of other residents and motorists sent in their complaints to Nantwichnews and on social media about potholes across Nantwich.

Cheshire East Council highways officer Phil Grocott said: “Our highways team has assessed Marsh Lane and found there are numerous potholes in the road.

“They will be added to the works programme.

“We are, understandably, prioritising works on major roads first.

“However, there is a very large pothole about 50 yards from Marsh Lane’s junction with Welsh Row and we will ensure that this is filled by the end of today (Wednesday, Jan 9).

“I will contact Cllr Arthur Moran before the end of tomorrow and arrange a meeting with him on site to discuss the issues we have identified.”
