More productions have been added to the new spring season at Crewe Lyceum Theatre.

These include stand-up from Jon Richardson, a comedy musical with Lesley Joseph, and children’s entertainment by The Sooty Show and Bananas in Pyjamas.

Tickets have already been selling fast for shows this month, which include Johnny Cash Roadshow on January 17, and an evening with British comedy legends Cannon and Ball (pictured) on Saturday January 18.

Now the theatre has unveiled more new shows for later in the year.

These kick off with “8 Out of 10 Cats” star Jon Richardson in his all new stand-up tour “Nidiot” on Wednesday April 16.

The perennial singleton and misanthrope is determined to become more easy-going for the sake of his friends and future health.

Comedy continues with the addition Hot Flush! (Tuesday May 6), starring Lesley Joseph, who recently returned to the screens in ITV’s “Birds of a Feather”.

The naughtiest comedy musical in town, Hot Flush! will have temperatures rising and hormones raging as a quartet of successful post-40s women leave no stone unturned as they examine relationships with men – and the menopause.

New shows for children and families include The Sooty Show (Friday May 30) and Bananas in Pyjamas (Sunday June 29).

Theatre director Gordon Millar said: “Crewe Lyceum Theatre is delighted to present even more high quality entertainment for audiences in the region.

“We already have a packed line-up of big-name comedians such as Jason Manford and Alan Davies, blockbuster musicals ‘Blood Brothers’ and ‘New Jersey Nights’, Agatha Christie’s crime drama “The Mousetrap” and family favourites like ‘Peppa Pig’, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the theatre this spring.”
