A gang of men raided a village store near Nantwich and made off with a stash of alcohol and cigarettes.

The raid happened at the Co-op store in Shropshire Street, Audlem, near Nantwich.

Police say the three men, dressed in dark clothing, forced their way in to the store at the back shortly before 5am today (April 8).

They loaded the cigarettes and alcohol into a black five door saloon, possibly an Audi or BMW, and fled in the direction of Market Drayton.

Det Con Lyndsey Burton, of Cheshire Police, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area, or has any information that that they think may help to contact me in order for me to progress with my enquiries.”
