Crewe & Nantwich RUFC kick off their new 2014-15 rugby campaign with a Cheshire Vase match.

They welcome Anselmians, from the Wirral, for the first round vase match on Saturday.

And director of rugby Andy Brown (pictured) is hoping for plenty of support as the Vagrants based club prepare to play at their highest ever league level this season.

“We have trained hard in the summer under head coach Andy Dudley,” said Brown.

“And we are looking forward to our first game.

“We do hope people will come down on Saturday and support the lads and have a look at a couple of new faces.”

Crewe & Nantwich will begin their league campaign in Midlands 1 the following Saturday, September 6, away at Walsall.

Their first home league match will be on September 13, against local rivals Whitchurch.

Also opening their new season on September 6 are the 2nd team who welcome Sefton 2nds, the 3rds at home to Macclesfield 4th team, and Crewe 4th team away at Oswestry.

Kick off for all these games is 3pm.

Meanwhile the mini and junior sections of the club are also back in action on September 7 with the first training of the new season.

The juniors, U16s to U13s, will train at Vagrants in Willaston. The minis, U12s to U7s, will train at Brine Leas School.
