john iveson, murder victim 480x260

Police searching for Nantwich man John Iveson have issued a new appeal on the eighth anniversary of his disappearance.

Mr Iveson, 37, (pictured) from Nantwich, was last seen on January 30 2007 by his family.

At the time he was treated as a missing person inquiry as his disappearance was out of character.

Cheshire Police, who conducted extensive inquiries to locate him, later believed he had been killed as there was no evidence found to suggest he was alive.

A murder investigation ensued and two men were tried but were found not guilty in 2012.

Officers continue to appeal for information to find those responsible.

Det Con Andy Roberts said: “John′s body has never been found but we are certain he was murdered and that′s why we will continue to appeal to the community and to those who knew of him to help us convict those responsible and get some form of closure for his family.”

He has urged anyone with information to contact police on 101. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
