Building Society staff in Nantwich will turn yellow to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and its annual Great Daffodil Appeal.

The fundraising at Yorkshire Building Society, on High Street, is taking place tomorrow (March 4) with colleagues also holding a book sale and a name the teddy bear competition.

Colleagues are raising money for Yorkshire Building Society’s Hour of Need campaign.

This will enable Marie Curie Nurses to provide more support for terminally ill people and their families across the UK.

Caris Bayley, manager of the Nantwich branch of Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We are all proud to be supporting Marie Curie with the Hour of Need campaign.

“We know Marie Curie is a charity close to the hearts of many people in our community and we hope as many people as possible will pop into the branch and donate to such a worthwhile cause.

“Here in Nantwich we are also embracing Marie Curie’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal by selling the charity’s popular daffodil pins throughout March.”

Lucy Herron, senior corporate account manager for Marie Curie, said: “The money raised at the Nantwich branch is hugely appreciated and will help Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses in their hour of need.”

Every £20 raised in the Hour of Need campaign will fund one hour of care.

The Society aims to raise £500,000 by December 2016, which equates to funding an hour of care by a Marie Curie Nurse for every hour of the campaign.
