A road in Wrenbury near Nantwich has been closed after a fire caused structural damage to a building.

Fire crews and police were called out to a building fire on New Road, Wrenbury.

Two fire engines from Crewe and one from Nantwich fought the blaze in a roof space which started shortly after 1pm today (November 23).

One hose reel and a covering jet was used and timbers were cut away to expose the fire.

Salvage operations also took place and police closed the road off.

New Road to the junction of Nantwich Road is currently closed due to structural issues with the building’s roof and chimney.
