Who doesn’t love the stories of Roald Dahl?
His stories and poetry are magical, full of weird and wonderful characters which appeal to both children and adults alike.
This year marks the centenary of Dahl’s birth, and what better way to celebrate than by going to see ‘The Witches’, the latest youth production from Nantwich Players.
One of the more darker and sinister tales from Dahl, ‘The Witches’ tells the story of a brave young boy and his Norwegian grandmother as they battle to overthrow England’s child hating witches.
The production is full of everything you expect.
Adapted by David Wood and directed by Chris Ridge, the show looks like it was enormous fun to have been a part of.
The young cast did a great job, and they should all be proud of the performance they gave.
Felix Piasecki was great as the lead of ‘Boy’.
The ‘Grand High Witch’ was brilliantly played by Amelia Shackleton.
I hope we see more of them in future productions.
Edward Rolfe gave a fantastically funny performance as ‘Bruno Jenkins’, and the ‘Chef’s’ played by Adam Boulton and William Popovic had the audience in fits of laughter.
If you’re a fan of Dahl, you won’t be disappointed with this production.
