Andrew Hunt, died on A41 Malpas in motorcycle accident

A motorcyclist died after a collision with a car on the A41 in Cheshire, police have confirmed.

The collision happened on Whitchurch Road in Malpas at about 1.30pm yesterday (April 10).

The motorcyclist, 54-year-old Andrew Hunt (pictured) from Saughall, Chester, died after his red/silver Agusta motorcycle collided with a red Citroen Picasso.

Mr Hunt’s next of kin has been informed.

No one else was injured in the collision.

The road remained closed for five hours while collision investigation work was conducted.

In a separate incident, police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Middlewich on Friday April 8.

A silver Smart car convertible and a grey VW Golf Estate were in collision on Croxton Lane at around 5.30pm.

The Smart car had been travelling towards Middlewich while the VW was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.

The driver of the Smart car, a 65-year-old local man, died at the scene.

The driver of the VW Golf and his passenger suffered minor injuries. Both went to Leighton Hospital.
