Neil Shoane, killed in hit and run on A530 near Aston, Nantwich

A 27-year-old man is being questioned over the death of Nantwich dad Neil Shoane on the A530 road near Aston.

Neil, 44, is alleged to have been struck by a vehicle which left the scene as he walked home from Nantwich to Aston on Sunday July 2.

Neil, who worked for Barclays Bank, was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police investigating the alleged fatal hit and run in the early hours of July 2 arrested a 27-year-old man from Nantwich on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said the man is currently in custody assisting officers with their inquiries.
