Detectives are hunting a teenage gang who attacked a 14-year-old boy and stole his bike in Crewe.

The incident happened on Monday (January 21) at around 4.45pm when the victim was cycling from Macon Way towards Ludlow Avenue through the Brook.

He became aware of four teenage boys cycling towards him on three bicycles.

One of them got off his bike and approached the victim.

The offender pushed the victim’s bike as it was being ridden, forcing him to fall off the bicycle.

The offender then picked up the bike and said ‘that’s mine mate’ before cycling away.

The bike has now been recovered and returned to the victim after being dumped in a garden in Crewe.

Detective Constable Liz Rankin said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to the local community for all the support and information we have received in relation to the incident so far.

“The information we have received has enabled us to reunite the victim with his bike.

“While the bike has been recovered, we remain committed to doing all that we can to trace those involved in the robbery and I urge anyone with any information which may assist our investigation to contact the team here at Crewe on 101.”

The teenager who stole the bicycle is described as white, aged about 16 to 17 and around 5ft 6in tall.

He had a slim build, a spotty face and spoke with a Crewe accent and was wearing all black clothing.

The three boys he was with are also described as around 16 to 17 years old with a slim build. Two of them had dark clothes on and one was wearing grey clothing.

All four of the teenagers were wearing hooded tops with their hoods up.
