Lyceum panto Cannon and ball

Crewe Lyceum say comedy legends Cannon & Ball will return to star in Peter Pan for their fourth consecutive Crewe panto.

It follows the duo’s appearance in the record-breaking success of Jack and the Beanstalk over Christmas 2018.

The much-loved comedy duo will star as Pirate Tommy and Pirate Bobby, henchmen to Captain Hook, in the pantomime title that will have Cheshire audiences soaring.

The duo are best known for their legendary comedy variety show The Cannon & Ball Show, which ran for over nine years on ITV1 featuring their classic comedy routines and trademark catchphrases.

They also had success in sitcom, gameshows, comedy shows, summer seasons, plays and pantomimes.

Having starred as the Policemen in Aladdin in 2016, the Wicked Queen’s Henchmen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 2017, and as the Brothers Trot in Jack and the Beanstalk last year, they have won rave reviews and entertained tens of thousands of theatregoers across Cheshire.

Tommy Cannon said: “We love coming back to Crewe because the response is phenomenal.

“Every performance there’s a full house with people of all ages having a wonderful time with us.”

Bobby Ball added: “The Crewe Lyceum is a beautiful theatre. It feels very special to play because it’s so intimate and easy to connect with the audience.

“Pantomime can be the first experience of theatre for many kids and it’s a delight and a responsibility to usher in a new generation of theatre-goers.”

Adam Knight, Theatre Director for Crewe Lyceum Theatre, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cannon & Ball back to Crewe.

“Tommy and Bobby’s humour has tickled audiences in Cheshire, Staffordshire and beyond. These comedy kings are sure to bring bags of laughter to audiences this festive season.”

Peter Pan will be staged by Qdos Entertainment, the company behind the Theatre’s previous record-breaking productions of Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin and Cinderella.

Peter Pan features Crewe Lyceum’s hallmark of outstanding entertainment for theatregoers of all ages.

Set sail for an adventure this December with Peter Pan at Crewe Lyceum Theatre from Friday December 13 until Sunday January 5.
