Leighton Hospital, Cheshire Police and Crewe & Nantwich MP Kieran Mullan have launched a “certificate” scheme to reward youngsters staying home during lockdown.

They hope the “thank you” certificate idea will give children an incentive.

They say the scheme has been used successfully in other parts of the UK.

Dr Mullan said: “I saw how much kids have enjoyed getting a certificate in other parts of the country and it was great to be able to work with Leighton Hospital and Cheshire Police to produce one of our own.

“I know how challenging it has been for many parents keeping their children at home and so this is something that will hopefully put a smile on their faces.

“It’s been tough for children and they do deserve a thank you.”

A copy of the certificate can be downloaded for printing at home or picked up at major local supermarkets.
