Men’s Singles winner George Raiswell with trophy (1)

Wistaston Jubilee Tennis Club (WJTC) staged its annual Finals Day on the two courts behind the Wistaston Memorial Hall & Community Centre, writes Jonathan White.

Bill Heath (WJTC Chairman) presented the trophies outdoors to the winners.

The Men’s Singles Final was won by George Raiswell (pictured) who retained his title beating Ryan Harper-Griffiths 6-1, 6-4.

In the Men’s Doubles Final, new pairing Ryan Harper-Griffiths and Arvind Kumar beat George Raiswell and Robert Sheffield 6-4, 6-4.

And in the Open Doubles Final Ryan Harper-Griffiths and Paul Unwin beat Chris Raiswell and John Lloyd 6-1, 7-6(3).

In the Junior tournament round robin, seven juniors battled it out with the tournament won by Sammy Hough with 28 points.

Tennis returned to WJTC in mid-May based on Government advice relating to coronavirus (Covid-19).
