Fire crews were called to tackle a blaze at midnight in Stapeley involving four tonnes of grass cuttings.
The incident broke out just before midnight last night (May 23) at a property on London Road in Stapeley, Nantwich.
Two fire engines from Audlem and Alsager were called out to the scene.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters used hose reel jets and tools to turn over a fire involving around four tonnes of grass cuttings which had also affected five metres of hedgerow.
“Crews monitored the pile with a thermal imaging camera and dampened down where necessary.”
