
Heartbroken friends and family of a popular young Nantwich man who died in a motorbike accident in Willaston have paid tribute to him.
Josh Stockton, 22, died after a collision with another vehicle on the A534 Crewe Road on Wednesday night (September 3).
Josh, a keen motorcyclist and skateboader, died on his way to hospital, despite best attempts of paramedics to save him.
He was also due to start a new job as a chef at the new GOAT sports bar in Nantwich.
Heartbroken staff who knew Josh were given the day off by bosses to come to terms with the tragedy.
One witness to the accident said: “I was there along with many other amazing people that rushed to help.
“It was a very traumatic scene. Absolutely gutted to hear he didn’t make it. Thoughts going out to everyone involved.”
Another who knew Josh added: “Devastating. Josh was a beautiful human through and through.
“He leaves behind a mother like no other, and brothers. My heart is with all the family and of course the rest of the boys and girls that rode with him.”
And one resident who tried to help added: “I was one of the people who witnessed it and helped him. He was so young. We really did our best to help him before the emergency services arrived. It’s such a tragic event. My thoughts are with his family.”
While another who knew Josh said: “Such a hardworking man, who made everyone’s day better. Rest in peace, Josh.”
Cheshire Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident.
Sgt Amy Hollis said: “I’d urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam of the incident to contact us to help us with our investigation into the circumstances.”
