Thousands of people are expected to pack Nantwich town centre next Friday for the popular Christmas Lights Switch-On event.

Star actor Ben Miller, who grew up and went to school in the town, will be performing the switch-on.

Nantwich Town Council plans to transform the town centre into a “winter wonderland”.

There will be live entertainment from 3pm with music from compere Chris Radford to uplift everyone’s holiday spirit.

A Festive Market will be open along Churchyardside, run by JDL with a large array of stalls offering gifts, handmade crafts, and seasonal treats, starting at 3pm.

And the town’s traditional market will remain open late, selling fresh produce, artisan goods, and holiday delicacies.

The headline tribute act will feature Lauren G, performing a tribute to pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter.

The Lights Switch-On will take place at 7pm when Ben will be on stage with Santa to light up the town.

A council spokesperson said: “Let’s gather in the town square as we watch the lights illuminate Nantwich, creating a breath-taking backdrop for the season!

“The stunning central piece on the Square, the fabulous Christmas Tree, is this year kindly sponsored by AFH Wealth Management.

“Bring your family and friends to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the Nantwich Christmas Light Switch-On.

“With vibrant entertainment, shopping opportunities, and dazzling lights, it promises to be an evening filled with cheer and community spirit.”
