Nantwich ‘Men Walking and Talking’ group on New Years Day 2025 prior to the walk (1)

A Nantwich initiative supporting men’s wellbeing has marked its first anniversary.

The ‘Men Walking and Talking’ group was launched in December 2024 with the aim of helping men boost mental and physical health through friendly chats and gentle exercise.

The free weekly walking group has become a positive force in the community and is part of a national network of more than 50 groups across the UK.

The Nantwich branch was set up with the help of Dave Carter, who ran the Men Walking & Talking group in Sandbach.

The group meets every Monday at 6.30pm at the Nantwich War Memorial in the town centre.

There’s no need to sign up — simply turn up, walk, and talk and it’s completely free of charge.

The Nantwich walk leader Steve Marvell said: “We are all really proud of how the group has evolved in just a year.

“Every week men from the group turn up regardless of the weather, and we chat about almost anything.

“We also have other social activities planned, such as a ‘curry night’, as well attending Nantwich Town football games.

“If you’ve been thinking about coming along, now is the perfect time, and you would be made to feel very welcome.”
