A growing display of Christmas tributes is bringing light and colour to the roadside memorial for motorcyclist Josh Stockton.
The 22-year-old died in September following a collision on Crewe Road in Willaston.
The memorial, set around a Maple tree close to the Willaston/Wistaston boundary sign and near the spot where the collision happened, has become a cherished place of remembrance for family, friends and residents.
Since his death, mementos have continued to appear at the base of the tree — but as Christmas approaches, the shrine has taken on a poignant festive glow.
Fairy lights weave through the branches, joined by baubles, tinsel and clusters of candy canes placed lovingly around the trunk.

A wreath spelling out “STOCKO49” rests beside the tree, reflecting Josh’s nickname and the affection in which he was held.
Josh, from Nantwich, was involved in a collision with another vehicle at around 6.37pm near the junction with Coppice Close.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, he tragically died on the way to hospital.
The popular and energetic young man was known for his passion for motorbikes and skateboarding, and had been preparing to start a new job as a chef at the GOAT sports bar in Nantwich.
His loss has been felt deeply throughout the community.
This year’s Nantwich Tree of Light outside St Mary’s Church was dedicated to Josh.
The Tree features hundreds of illuminated baubles sponsored by residents in honour of loved ones.

Thank everyone for thinking about my grandson
