Pupils and staff from schools in Nantwich embraced the festive spirit by taking part in elf runs to raise vital funds for St Luke’s Hospice.
Children from Acton CE Academy, Calveley Primary Academy, Millfields Primary Academy in Nantwich, as well as at St John’s CE Academy in Sandbach and Oak View Academy in Winsford donned elf hats and festive outfits before taking part in sponsored runs.
The youngsters – in schools which are all part of the North West Academies Trust – have raised an impressive £3,700 for the local hospice.
Across the schools, pupils ran laps of their school grounds filled with colour, laughter and festive cheer.
At Acton CE Academy, pupils and staff also enjoyed a festive walk around the local village, spreading seasonal smiles while raising awareness of the hospice’s important work.

The elf runs provided a fun and meaningful way for children to learn about helping others, with staff praising pupils for their enthusiasm, kindness and community spirit throughout the events.
Families and friends turned out to support the runners, cheering them on and helping to create a wonderful atmosphere at each event.
Steve Docking OBE, CEO of North West Academies Trust, said: “These festive elf runs perfectly capture the spirit of our school communities.
“Our pupils and staff have come together to support a vital local charity while having fun and learning the importance of kindness and generosity.
“We are incredibly proud of everyone involved for raising such a fantastic amount for St Luke’s Hospice, which provides essential care and support for local people and their families when they need it most.”
