Nantwich Railway Station is among the winners of the latest Cheshire Best Kept Stations awards.

Nantwich was named Best Unstaffed Station Award in 2025, a testament to the amazing work volunteers do to maintain it.

The awards were unveiled and presented at a ceremony at Crewe Alexandra Stadium last week.

Mark Barker, Chair of Cheshire Best Kept Stations, said at the awards: “Tonight is a celebration of and for station volunteers and your work.

“Your hard work and pride in your stations make a huge difference not only to the stations but to your communities.

“They are part of our lives, where journeys begin and end, whether everyday trips for work, shopping, a day trip or a night out, important journeys to go on holiday or to university.

“Where loved ones are welcomed or bid farewell.

“They are gateways to our communities, to our lives.

“So what you do touches many lives, including your own, for what can be better for physical and mental health, self esteem
and confidence than working as a team for something meaningful, beneficial and constructive.

“That pride you take in your work reflects on the community and all who use your station.”
