Elles Bailey - roots festival

Chart-topping artist Elles Bailey is heading to Nantwich as part of this year’s Nantwich Roots event, organisers have announced.

The Blues/ Americana singer is currently at number 15 on the National Album Chart as well as being No 1 on the Americana chart with her new release “Can’t Take My Story Away”.

She was also the most played artist on BBC Radio 2 last month.

Elles – whose voice has been likened to timeless acts including Janis Joplin and Bonnie Raitt – is bringing her six-piece band to Nantwich Civic Hall on Saturday May 16.

It will be one of the highlights of the 5th Roots Festival hosted in the town.

Organiser Nigel Stonier said: “Now considered one the top female artists in the UK, it’s often said Elles can belt out the blues full throttle, then promptly drop to a whisper to deliver a stunning emotional ballad!”

It will be her second appearance in Nantwich, having sold out her show at Nantwich Town FC in 2024.

Tickets are available via the festival hotline 07837 626436, from the website wordsandmusicfestival.com or from the Civic Hall Box Office.

Also appearing at the festival are folk icons The Unthanks who play Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday May 15.

And brilliant singer/guitarist Newton Faulkner will play the closing night of the event at The Civic Hall on Sunday May 17.

Tickets are available for these events but are selling fast. Full details, prices and availability are at wordsandmusicfestival.com
