Work has been completed to improve car parking facilities in Shrewbridge Road in Nantwich.
It comes after similar work was done on the Nantwich Lake car park, which included relining and repairs.
Both projects were paid for from existing S106 agreements which had been unused for several years.
S106 money is paid by housing developers as a condition of planning approval, designed to help pay for improvements to infrastructure where new housing is built.
The Shrewbridge Road site has been laid with hard standing to replace the eroded surface and has also benefited from a barrier to prevent existing grassed area from further damage.
Local Nantwich South ward councillors John Priest and Geoff Smith said the site had not had any investment for many years and they lobbied Cheshire East Council for s106 funding for improvements.
Cllr Priest said: “The existing dilapidated facilities were a disgrace.
“I want to commend Highways for having completed both this project and the Nantwich Lake car park upgrade to a good standard.”
Cllr Smith added: “The result of this upgrade provides a long overdue enhancement of the wonderful green spaces which we enjoy here in Nantwich.”

Atleast the money is being used to improve the local area? You’d soon be moaning if it went towards bonuses.
Be optimistic
And you have nothing better to spend it on
