huskie puppies - Animal Lifeline

An animal charity is continuing to appeal for help to trace the mum of seven puppies left abandoned in a box by the side of a busy Nantwich road.

We revealed last month how a passerby found the puppies, thought to be Huskies, in a cardboard box by Middlewich Road.

They were taken to a local vets and are now being cared for by Emma Caskie, of the local Animal Lifeline charity.

One of the puppies died but Emma confirmed today the other six are improving and doing well.

Now the charity wants to find the mother who could need help as the puppies were very recently born.

Emma said: “The six pups are still with me and so far are doing well.

“We never definitely traced the mum but sadly think she is living locally in the Crewe area based on some anonymous information we have received.

“So we can only hope she is ok and has been seen by a vet.”

At the time, Emma added: “We are not sure if the finders owned the puppies mum but the pups didn’t seem to have been away from mum long as they weren’t cold or really hungry.

“We believe them to be huskies and are concerned the mum could need veterinary care.

“As a charity we would like to offer the owners a vet check up for the mum if she needs it.

“If she couldn’t feed the puppies for whatever reason or didn’t want the pups there may be a veterinary reason that could put her at risk as well as the puppies.”
