The FA is currently investigating an alleged racist incident which led to the abandonment of Nantwich Town’s match with Darlaston.
Darlaston players walked off the pitch after 71 minutes as they trailed 3-1 to the Dabbers at the Swansway Stadium.
But Darlaston refused to complete the match.
The Northern Premier League today confirmed the match will be replayed “in full” on a date to be confirmed.
They also said the incident which led to the abandonment is now subject of an FA investigation.
In a statement, the NPL said: “We are aware of the abandonment and the allegations made, and the relevant reports have been duly submitted to the FA.
“The league can’t make any further comment until the matter has been considered by the relevant department at the FA.”
Nantwich Town were leading 3-1 at the time when the alleged racist comment was made last Saturday (March 21st)
The game was halted and the incident reported to officials.
In a statement after the match, Nantwich Town said: “Following an alleged inappropriate comment from a member of the crowd towards a Darlaston player and following a prolonged stoppage, whereby a member of the crowd was ejected from the stadium, the Darlaston players collectively felt they were unable to continue the game the game which Nantwich were leading 3-1.
“Whilst this is bitterly disappointing for all concerned, the club has zero tolerance towards any inappropriate behaviour and comments and fully supports and respects Darlaston’s decision.
“The club has followed the full and correct processes in dealing with this and will await further instruction from the League following the referee’s report and we will provide further updates following this.”
Darlaston also issued a statement after the match.
They said: “Following an alleged inappropriate comment made by a spectator towards one of our players, and after a prolonged stoppage during which the individual concerned was removed from the stadium, our players collectively took the decision that they were unable to continue the fixture.
“While this is a disappointing outcome for all involved, Darlaston Town maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards any form of inappropriate behaviour or language.
“The welfare and wellbeing of our players will always remain our priority.
“The club will continue to support the relevant processes and will await further guidance from the League following the referee’s report. We will provide further updates in due course.”
We have contacted the FA and are awaiting a reply.

Now call me cynical, but why wasn’t the match finished ,then alleged incident investigated,
we used to do this as kids, one team clearly winning and one kid from the other team would delay the match acting the clown, so they all got sent home
classic delaying tactics by the losing team
Too true David, let’s overlook the racism from the stands that many heard
What a Luddite you are.
An interesting situation whereby Darlaston FC plated the racist card yet again.
Apparently they did the same at Newcastle tiwn FC when 3-1 down. It looks like a trigger point.
This needs to be investigated by the FA and fines allocated accordingly.
