Runners, walkers and families gathered at Barony Park in Nantwich for the latest Dabbers Dash, with another strong turnout highlighting the event’s popularity.
Nantwich News joined in the free, informal monthly gathering yesterday (April 25th) which attracts people of all ages and abilities.
Participants complete up to three-and-a-half laps of the park — roughly 5km — or simply enjoy a shorter stroll, jog or wheel around the scenic green space.
April’s event also supported “Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month”, helping to raise understanding and promote inclusivity within the community.
Attendees were able to speak with Zoe Okoh from the Nantwich & Rural Care Community Team (NHS), who provided guidance on available support for those affected by limb loss or limb difference.
Organisers also thanked partners from LimbPower and the Amputation Foundation for their digital collaboration.
The event also coincided with National Parkwalk Day, with recognition given to dedicated Tail Walkers Ann and Anne, who ensured no participant was left behind — offering encouragement to those taking their first steps towards improved fitness.
There was congratulations for Hayley and James on the birth of their daughter Alice, who at just three weeks old is believed to be the youngest ever participant in the Dash.
The next Dabbers Dash will take place on Saturday 23rd May at 9am.
This will have a light-hearted “Cops & Robbers” theme inspired by the film Hot Fuzz.
Fancy dress is encouraged, with participants invited to come as police officers, robbers, swans or residents of Sandford.
Dash founder Paul McIntyre said: “Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, wheeled, pushed prams, brought dogs and made the morning special. Community spirit is shining again in Nantwich.”
