Fire crews were called to tackle a blaze in a disused building in Audlem.
The incident happened at around 7.15pm last night (May 1st) at a building on School Lane.
Three fire engines from Audlem and Crewe and the rapid response rescue unit from Middlewich attended the scene.
A Cheshire Fire Service spokesperson said: “Crews were called to reports of smoke coming from the roof of a disused building, with concerns that people may have been inside.
“Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus took in hose reel jets and carried out searches – all persons were accounted for.
“The fire was believed to be within the roof space, so the drone was deployed to investigate.
“Firefighters cleared a blockage in the chimney using small tools and chimney rods, dampening down debris and monitoring temperatures in the chimney with a thermal imaging camera.
“The fire is believed to have started in an open fireplace.”
