A Nantwich man was attacked near Nantwich Station and left with injuries in Leighton Hospital.

Cheshire Police say the 31-year-old victim was assaulted by “unknown suspects” on Wellington Road at around 6pm last night (May 15th).

Witnesses say they saw police cordon off the road and forensics officers were on scene gathering evidence until 11.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: “At around 5.55pm on Friday 15 May, police were called to reports of an altercation on Wellington Road, Nantwich.

“Officers attended and found a 31-year-old local man had been assaulted by unknown suspects.

“The victim attended Leighton Hospital as a precautionary measure but was discharged a short time later.

“A small cordon was put in place while forensic enquiries were undertaken, police left the site at around 11.30pm.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information or video footage which may aid the investigation is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101, or visit http://www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML-2329311.”

  2. The woeful do-gooders and woke exponents of our pathetically toothless Judicial System will probably say, “The culprits must be found asap, they obviously need help”?…

    ‘Meaningful’ punishment and deterrent for violent crime is desperately needed to revitalise our ever crumbling ‘Law and Order’ these days, for sure!

    6pm on a busy area, somebody must have seen something, dash cam or passenger glancing over, this town is truly is getting a dreadful reputation for violence now, the last 5 years it has got worse. I wonder being close to the station were people involved possibly passengers of a train stopping, I noticed before some rough characters arriving at the station a few weeks back and thought the town is a magnet at night for people outside the area,
