These dramatic images show a car which witnesses say crashed into parked vehicles and flipped upside down on a busy Nantwich street.

The incident happened on Davenport Avenue in Nantwich at around 8.30pm last night (Saturday, May 16th).

The car which flipped over landed on top of another vehicle, who’s owner James Wrench told how seconds earlier he had been inside.

He said: “This car hit a stationary vehicle and flipped onto my car.

“It happened just moments after I had gone back into my flat to collect something I had forgotten.

“It doesn’t bare thinking about how this could have ended!”

It’s believed no one was injured in the incident.

Witnesses say the driver of the vehicle left the scene but was taken into police custody.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 8.30pm on Saturday 16 May, police were called to reports of a collision on Davenport Avenue, Nantwich.

“Officers attended the scene and found that a grey Vauxhall Corsa had overturned after colliding with two stationary vehicles – a black Vauxhall Corsa and a gold VW Golf.

“The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and ran off on foot.

“Following enquiries, a 32-year-old local man was arrested in relation to the collision.

“The man has since been taken to hospital where he remains at this time.”

Hospital?? He certainly wasn’t injured enough to stop him running away from the scene…

But hopefully he’ll get a long disqualification from driving for doing so.

It has to be asked were drugs and alcohol involved? Only a very insecure man drives as badly as this, if there were people around at the time and they came to harm I don’t know how this driver could live with the daily reminder. Speed drugs and alcohol is not cool man, time to grow up you are an epic failure
