The weather played havoc with Nantwich Cricket Club’s weekend fixtures with both the first and second team fixtures abandoned because of rain.
The first eleven’s winning momentum came to a halt at Neston, where only seven overs were bowled after the visitors had put the home side into bat.
At Whitehouse Lane, the second team also fielded first and managed to get through their 50 overs, with Neston finishing on 241-2.
But the weather meant the Dabbers were unable to begin their reply.
The Saturday third team did manage to play a full game and secured an eight-wicket win over Kidsgrove second team.
Oscar Finn, with 3-19, was the pick of the Nantwich bowlers as Kidsgrove were dismissed for 148. An unbeaten half-century from Robert Howell helped the home side to an eight-wicket win.
Oliver Howell hit an unbeaten 89 for the Sunday third team but their total of 170-4 from 40 overs was not enough for a win against Marple CC.
Noah Birchall took 3-41 but the visitors got home with two wickets and six overs to spare.
For the women’s first eleven, Grace Michell took 3-14 as Alvanley were bowled out for 99 and Nantwich reached their target without alarm, Michell hitting an unbeaten 51 and Morganne Prince also unbeaten on 37.
On Wednesday (May 20), Whitehouse Lane stages a T20 contest between Cheshire and Derbyshire. It will be a 3pm start and bar and catering facilities will be open. Admission is free.
On Saturday (May 23), the first team will entertain old rivals Chester Boughton Hall at Whitehouse Lane in their Premier League fixture. It will be a midday start and all spectators are welcome.
