A ‘Proms at Acton’ concert is set to return for its fourth year on Remembrance Sunday November 9th at St Mary’s Church in Acton, writes Jonathan White.
Inspired by the famous Last Night of the Proms, it will feature patriotic favourites like Land of Hope & Glory performed by Nantwich Concert Band and soprano soloists Sarah Williamson and Jessica Thayer.
There is free parking at Acton village car park, and the concert starts at 6.30pm.
Tickets are £10 and can be picked up at the weekly Tea at the Tower community café (every Sunday, 2:30–4:30pm at St Mary’s), or reserved by calling Stephan on 01270 624135 or 07731 800663.
Funds raised will go to the Royal British Legion, supporting the Armed Forces community and their work, including the annual Poppy Appeal.
A representative from St Mary’s Church said: “The Proms at Acton has become a real highlight of our year.
“It’s a wonderful way to bring people together in music and remembrance, while raising funds for such an important cause.”
